This place reminds me of Wurstkuche in DTLA which I love. Or maybe all German sausage places are like this; I don't know. But anyway, this place is also great; great food, great beer, great ambiance. Now that I live in OC and not LA anymore, I'm glad that I found this place.
Dearest readers, This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of revisiting Wursthaus for a midday repast, and I daresay, it is even more delightful than I remembered. Opting for the three-sausage sampler, complemented by an additional roll, proved to be the ideal portion for two, satisfying both the appetite and the soul. Upon placing our order, we ventured to the back, only to find ourselves seemingly transported to an authentic German beer hall, complete with an impressive array of taps. Each sausage was a culinary marvel, nestled in soft, fresh grinder and pretzel buns, while the sides and sauces provided impeccable accompaniment to the main fare. Adding to the allure, Wursthaus hosts a trivia night, an event that this author eagerly anticipates attending. If you have not yet experienced the charm of Wursthaus, I highly recommend a visit posthaste. Yours truly, Lady Whistledown
Food - wursters? Haha, think of anything sausage or links based and definitely an experience to have. Besides the namesakes like the brats, sausages, dogs, they also have Bison and one other rather exotic meat in their menu. They also have beers and maybe other libations. We enjoyed the sampler we had here and would definitely come back. Service - friendly and insightful. Ambiance - when you walk in here, it looks like a small frontage and joint. Lo and behold, the back room where you would eat. It's kinda cool!!! Dimly lit like a German pub haus or something. Verdict - a must try!
Service and food is amazing! Like others have said, if you are thinking about the German Style Pretzel, you owe it to yourself to try it out. A pretzel, sausage and soda is usually enough for me for lunch (if you order 3 sausages its going to be too much). We will definitely be back, cheers guys!
Great local spot. Made it part of my weekly lunch route. Food is delicious and staff is friendly. Chef always has great recommendations when I'm not sure what to get. I'm always excited when there's a new exotic available.
Food: Good Beer at an okay price. Solid Sausage options and I enjoyed the 2 that I had. Ambiance: A German beerhouse vibe is definitely there. I went during a random weekday before most are yet to leave their offices. The silence was nice, but I know that it's a fun place to be when you're with friends while the place is packed. Service: It's good. The person behind the counter was nice and she was always on top of things. 10/10
Located in downtown Santa Ana, this is a gem of a place. After taking your order in the front, you find yourself in a dim lit bar/speak-easy dining area. There is music playing in the back and a huge assortment of beers to choose from. The food is AMAZING. There are so many options to choose from but the sausages we had all were packed with flavor and smokiness. They let you choose what condiments you want on the side and a choice between a normal bun and a pretzel bun(my favorite). There is also multiple types of mustards to enjoy with the meal laid on the tables. The pretzel is to die for and has the perfect amount of salt on it. I recommend adding the beer cheese sauce and is completely worth it. The drinks rotate every three days and are handpicked by their staff. The staff was very friendly, talkative, and knowledgeable on the drink. I recommend checking Wursthaus out if you are nearby.
Wow. What an experience. Came in on Wednesday night and ordered at the front. The had trivia starting in the back but unfortunately we had a movie to catch. The order was supposed to be duck sausage on the fries and cheddar jalapeño sausage on the bun but the kitchen flipped it around. I took one bite into the sausage that was supposed to be cheddar jalapeño and hated it, my boyfriend bit into and loved it and finished it for me....i only hated it because it was duck and I'm not a fan. By the time I realized they had flipped it, he had eaten both sausages, no harm tho because the pretzel was to die for. Big pieces of salt with the beer cheese...yummy. I'm still thinking about it the next day. We had the greatest service at the bar by Karla. She was super patient with us while my boyfriend asked a million questions (he thinks he's a beer snob) and I had a great glass of rose. I did try the strawberry beer which I liked more than I thought I would. We will be back on a Wednesday again to play trivia and hopefully have another great experience with Karla.
Delicious! I was surprised at the spiciness of the bison sausage. We had two samplers - one sampler was rabbit and rattlesnake, Wagyu beef sausage, and polish. They were all good, but the Wagyu was epic. The other sampler was duck cilantro (delicious), bison, and bratwurst. To be clear - you can choose your sampler sausage combo. Toppings were sauerkraut and onions for us. We did the pretzel roll and it was good. Will be back again. Nice friendly crew and plenty of outdoor seating.
